At the end of this course participants should be able to :
• Start Photoshop, open an existing file and explore the toolbox and palettes.
• Create, save and close a file and close Photoshop.
• Use the Zoom Tool to view images at different magnification levels and use the Hand Tool and the File Browser.
• Make, adjust, copy and deselect selections and use the Marquee and Lasso tools to make selections. You will also learn how to use the Move and Magic Wand tools.
• Use the Pencil Tool to create artwork and the Brush, Airbrush, Healing Brush tools and the paint engine to paint an image.
• Learn how to use the Clone Stamp, Pattern Stamp tools and the pattern maker plug-in to retouch images.
• Use the shape tools to draw rectangles, ellipses, polygons, lines and custom shapes. Use the Pen Tool to create artwork.
• Use the Direct Selection and Path Selection tools to select and edit shapes and drawings.
• Use the Color palette and the Auto Color command to paint an image.
• Select colors by using Color Picker and Custom Colors and use the Paint Bucket and Eyedropper to paint an image.
• Explore layers and manage layer placement and visibility.
• Retouch a photograph by using the Dodge, Burn, Sponge, Blur, Sharpen and Smudge tools.
• Use Gradient tools to create color transition effects and use the Eraser tools.
